Career Hub Entrepreneurship Program: Inspiring the Next Generation of Innovators
The Career Hub Entrepreneurship Program, held from August 2-4, 2024, at the Lake Nona Performance Club, was a transformative, hands-on event designed to inspire middle and high school students to explore the world of entrepreneurship. Organized in partnership with the Shooting Stars Foundation, the program built on the success of its 2022 launch at AMGEN and was specifically tailored to meet the needs of local students in Orlando.
Mentored by industry leaders from renowned companies like Disney, GE Capital, Amgen, Platinum Equity, Tupperware, and Mathematica, the program featured interactive sessions on essential aspects of entrepreneurship, including ideation, product design, marketing, finance, negotiation, and pitching.
With 32 participants forming six teams, students developed innovative business ideas such as real hair wigs for alopecia patients and career simulation platforms. The program culminated in a pitch competition, where students presented their ideas to a distinguished panel of judges, including Payton Lynch, VP of Product Management at Disney Cruise, Rekha Ramesh, CTO of Platinum Equity, and Ram Marri, VP of GE Capital.
The event not only equipped students with entrepreneurial skills but also fostered creativity, teamwork, and confidence, providing them with a deeper understanding of what it takes to launch and scale a business. By the end of the program, participants left with valuable business acumen, ready to take their entrepreneurial ambitions to the next level.
